English Expository writing

a) Exposition is a type of oral or written discourse which is used to explain or document a specific subject to a person who has no existing understanding of the subject.
b) The purpose of Exposition writing is to enable writers to synthesize on their own basic points, which help them to get a better picture of the situation and then build up their storyline/whatever they are writing on those basic points. It is also beneficial to readers as readers will get to better understand the text.

Unlike Narrative texts or personal recounts, expository writings focus more on in depth explanation and description, expository essays are written assuming that the reader has no knowledge of the subject.
Conclusion: Expository texts focus more on documenting the details thoroughly but personal recounts and narratives focus more on detailed description of the complication rather than the basic situation.
